One of the secrets to losing weight and/or maintaining a healthy lifestyle, is finding your own particular path to health.  If you try to force it upon yourself, your chances of lasting success are slim at best.  By incorporating yourself into the plan as truly as possible, you greatly increase your chances of lasting success along with your own happiness.  With this in mind, it is important to learn as much as you can about exercise and nutrition and the mind-body connection.  By knowing more, you can make the right kinds of decisions for yourself.  You will choose exercises that you actually enjoy doing.  You will also eat the foods that you love in the right amounts and at the right times.  The more we can incorporate our true selves into the mix, the more we will actually enjoy this new lifestyle!

Eat more fiber.  Of course we have all heard about the benefits on fiber for years, but when you are trying to lose weight it can become even more important.  Eating more fiber like whole grains and vegetables will fill you up faster and you will eat less.  If your diet is currently low in fiber, increase fiber slowly into your diet so prevent stomach discomfort.  Also remember you to increase your water intake as well.
